North Hastings Children's Services is Proud to be an Ontario Early Years Centre.
We offer the following Services to Children and their Parents:
School Readiness This is a free program for pre-schoolers to assist them in the transition to attending school. The program focuses on helping children develop skills they will need such as early literacy and numeracy and social skills such as sharing and taking turns. It also gives children an opportunity to experience the structure of school in an informal, gentle way. Usually, children attend one morning per week for 3 hours for 8 weeks. Pre registration is required and space is limited and fills up quickly! Family Support
All families need a little help sometimes. Whether it’s information on other services, or questions about child development or parenting in general, our staff is happy to help. If we don’t have the answers, we will help you to find them.
Parent Education Ongoing workshops and courses are offered on many topics related to parenting and raising children. All are offered free of charge and at various times and dates. If there is a topic of interest to you that we don’t offer, let us know and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
